How Summer Haze Works

We make amazing guitar pedals available to you through an online rental club. Rent a pedal and we'll ship it to you to use with your own gear, in your own environment - all for much less than what you would pay to buy it outright. Give it a try!

Step 1: Browse our curated collection of high-end, highly-rated pedals to find one you like. We are constantly growing the collection.

Step 2: Rent a pedal online through our easy checkout process. We charge in 30-day increments. You can keep a pedal as long (or short) as you want as long your payment remains valid.

Step 3: When you are ready to return a pedal, pack it up using the shipping materials that came with it and affix the pre-paid return shipping label to the box. Then simply drop it off at your local shipping center.

Step 4: When we receive the pedal back into the studio, we will email you a confirmation of receipt and you are free to check out more pedals whenever you are ready.

What can I do with a pedal?

Pretty much whatever you want! Use it at rehearsal, use it to record, or for a gig. Or just noodle around with it to find new sound you love.

Are pedals new or used?

Each pedal enters our collection new and is kept in excellent condition throughout its life. You may notice natural cosmetic damage to a pedal from time to time.

Can I buy a pedal if I love it?

Summer Haze is a rental club only at this time. However, you can find some pedals available for sale directly from a manufacturer’s website or through a retailer.

Can I reserve a pedal from the collection?

Summer Haze does not currently support reservations on pedals. If a pedal you want is marked "checked out" you can email us here with the name of the pedal you want to be notified about as soon as it becomes available. Our inventory is refreshed daily on the site.

What if I damage or lose a pedal?

If a pedal is damaged while in your possession, Summer Haze will assess the damage after you return it to our studio and we will and notify you of any repair fee that you may be liable for. We do not charge for natural wear and tear (e.g., small paint chips and scratches). In the event of heavy damage or loss of the pedal, you will never be charged more than the retail replacement cost of the pedal. 

How long will it take for my pedal to arrive?

Summer Haze ships pedals via standard shipping. You will typically receive your pedal within 2-6 business days from the time you check it out. If you notice any damage to the pedal upon unboxing, please immediately email us here

How does billing work?

Summer Haze charges $13.99 per month (+ tax and shipping), per pedal. You are charged in 30-day increments from the date you check out a pedal. You can keep a pedal as long as you want, with your valid payment. When you return a pedal, you will not be charged for the next 30-day billing period.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

No. Pre-paid return shipping is included in your rental price.

Do I need to be available to sign for a pedal when it arrives?

No. Signature is not required.

How do I return a pedal?

Return instructions are provided in your rental. Please keep the pedal box and included packing materials during your rental period, as you will need them to return the pedal. If you lose your return instructions or other packing materials, please email us here.

What if I lose the shipping materials that came with the pedal?

If you lose the shipping materials that come with your rental, you will be responsible for the cost of packing materials and return postage. Please ensure that you wrap the pedal with ample padding and use a sturdy return shipping box. You can return the pedal via standard shipping postage to:

Do pedals come with a power source?

All pedals ship with a power source. Some pedals are battery powered and do not ship with an adaptor. Pedals that do not support batteries come with an adapter. Note that you must return the adapter to avoid incurring a replacement fee.
